Establishment
On May 17, 2021, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Zahabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Housing and Building Research National Center, announced the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Club at the Centre. The club is funded by the Academy of Scientific Research, Headed by Professor Dr. Mahmoud Saqr and under the supervision of Dr. Wafaa Abdel Rashid, who supervises the Academy for entrepreneurship clubs. This is within the framework of the Center’s keenness to promote the dissemination of the culture of entrepreneurship for the Center’s employees and faculty members, with the aim of disseminating modern trends in the field of entrepreneurship.

The club will work to enhance direct communication channels between the owners of ideas from the center’s members and the owners of emerging companies with investors, financiers and business incubators to provide specialized financing and training opportunities, work to spread creative thought in society, and how to find initial investment opportunities in promising pioneering projects to launch them and facilitate their entry into the market to serve... Society, development of the national economy and resources of the Egyptian state. In addition to developing training programs within the center for faculty members and workers, as well as cooperate with some experts in the field of emerging companies for the purposes of professional and personal development for individuals.

Dr. Amr Nour El-Din, Director of the Entrepreneurship Club at the Center, indicated that the Entrepreneurship Club at the Center will have the main mission of encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and establishing activities, increasing economic knowledge and marketing awareness, instilling confidence among employees, and encouraging and building entrepreneurial momentum among the Center’s members.
One of the most important goals of the Entrepreneurship Club is to create an entrepreneurship family, and to hold competitions for the purpose of presenting the ideas of the center’s employees in competitive entrepreneurship projects, as well as presenting applicable scientific research outputs and selecting the best ones to market them and create startup companies.

What is entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship is: the ability to think outside the box, and create innovative solutions to existing problems, while possessing the spirit of risk, self-belief, and perseverance to turn dreams into realities.

*Weekend Start Up camps
* Workshops to discuss specialized topics such as recycling construction and demolition waste
*An activity for Entrepreneurship Week that includes topics related to intellectual property, technological incubators, financing entities, and other societal topics related to the environment.
